Labelling approaches
We work with different types of biomacromolecules: proteins, RNA, DNA, and complexes thereof, most often in collaboration with biochemical groups at ETH and abroad.
Various chemical approaches for attaching different types of spin labels are investigated, with a main focus on orthogonal labelling of monomer (bio-)macromolecules and (bio-)macromolecular complexes.
Labelling strategies
We are designing new strategies that rely on the possibility to use two and more spectroscopically distinguishable spin labels.In collaboration with NMR groups we develop combined EPR/NMR approaches to solve structure and study function of large biomolecules and their complexes.
